An Intimate Lakeside Wedding

Mariah and William had a beautiful and intimate back yard wedding in Northern Michigan at Mariah’s families summer lake home. They live in Northern California but new they wanted to get married in a private, meaningful ceremony. Mariah’s parents lake house was the perfect setting for what they wanted.

Sitting directly on Long Lake in Traverse City it offered beautiful sunset views and allowed them to have the intimate experience they wanted for their day. When I first spoke to Mariah and William they expressed to me they had intentionally only invited their immediate families as they just wanted to really enjoy their family and each other and didn’t want the day to be curated or be a production. This made me so happy!

We started they day with Mariah slipping in to her dress and William hanging out with his family sipping cocktails and sharing stories. Everyone arrived to a relaxed space to enjoy some drinks and conversation before the ceremony started.

Mariah’s sister officiated the ceremony and it was so sweet. Her sister actually was married at this same house a few years earlier and so it made it even more special for them to get married there. The ceremony was short and sweet.

Mariah and William enjoyed some time with their families and then we snuck off to do some fun pictures by the water, cocktails in hand of course.

Then they enjoyed an intimate dinner by candle light with delicious food made by their family chef. Dinner was amazing and filled with candle light and good conversation.

Everyone danced the night away outside among the trees and under the disco ball. It was everything they dreamed it would be. Thankful I get to be a part of days like this.
