Helen and Levi’s Asheville mountain elopement was about as magical as it can get. Helen is an amazing floral designer here in South Florida. I have had the pleasure of working with her many times at weddings. They both enjoy Spartan races, in fact they did one a few days prior to their elopement.
When Helen reached out, I honestly was so honored. Whenever a fellow vendor reaches out to photograph their wedding I am always so thankful and honored.
The day before the elopement I met up with Ty and Carolyn with Peach and Orange films to adventure around and find the perfect spot for the elopement. One of the top priorities for Helen and Levi was to have their ceremony spot be super private. So, we found a sweet spot in the middle of a creek for them to share sweet vows to each other.
One thing that is so great about eloping is that you get to be way more flexible with your plans then on a wedding day. Heavy rain was in the forecast for the day of the elopement. We saw we might get a little break in the rain in the early afternoon and made a plan to leave earlier then planned to drive up to the spot.
We drove through windy roads with zero visibility because of the fog to get to the ceremony spot. Helen and Levi threw on their rain coats and we all headed out to hike in the rain to the perfect spot. It was perfect, intimate, and oh so sweet to watch two people so in love profess their forever love to one another.
I”ll forever be grateful for clients like Helen and Levi. They never stressed over the weather…they embraced it. This is such a good lesson for anyone getting married…whether you are eloping or having a full on wedding. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Things WILL go wrong during the day but don’t sweat it, embrace it.
