Sometimes you have to do photo shoots for yourself. One to keep your sanity in this crazy industry but also to keep the creative juices flowing. I can always count on my friend Angela, with The Alternative to create something amazing with me. We literally threw this shoot together last minute and she made these insane florals with flowers she had left over from another project. She never ceases to amaze me. Annie, the model is stunning and was perfect for the look of this shoot. We wanted something with an Urban vibe (here is South Florida we get stuck shooting palm trees and beaches WAY to much). Mora Girls boutique gave us an amazing handmade wedding dress to photograph as well.
I knew that I wanted a clean backdrop for the location and had thought about a certain parking garage I wanted to shoot at in West Palm Beach. Unfortunately, when when we got there we weren’t able to use that location due to so many cars being parked there. As usual, I had to find a new location last minute. Luckily, West Palm as amazing spots to shoot so we headed to a spot I knew that had this awesome all white industrial building.
Another reason we set up this shoot is to photograph Angela’s one of kind slip dresses that she hand dyes with flowers. They are incredible and so unique. She makes a lot of these pieces with brides own wedding flowers as a keepsake of your wedding day. Florals usually go to waste after a wedding and this is an awesome way to reuse and repurpose wedding flowers. I have one of her silk dresses she made with my wedding bouquet and I am so in love with it. We are going to do another session where we are going shoot her slip dresses and kimonos only so stay tuned for that!
