Big Talbot Island holds a very special place in my heart. I spent a lot of time there while I was in college in St. Augustine. It was somewhat of a getaway, peaceful and beautiful. In the wake of Hurricane Mathew I wanted to blog this session as this beach is totaly destroyed now and I am so glad I had the opportunity to shoot there one last time. Also, below I have listed some website where you can go donate to help with the devastation caused by the hurricane.
Brenna and John were a dream to work with. Brenna had reached out to me a few months earlier about doing a session at Big Talbot. She was so sweet on the phone and she explained to me about some family hardships that were going on and I knew I wanted this shoot to be special for them. A lot of clients I work with I don’t get to meet before hand since I do a lot of destination work. I do my best to get to know them over the phone and with Brenna I felt like I got a good sense of their personalities.
The shoot day I was so excited to meet them in person. They were just as I imagined them to be sweet, calm and ridiculously in love (oh and beautiful too)!!! We spent the afternoon exploring the park and laughing (mainly at me because I am a total dork at shoots). It wasn’t hard to capture their love, they are just naturally connected. Getting to photograph this type of love is so special and really makes me feel good about what I do!
I hope to go back to Talbot soon even though I know it won’t be the same. The aesthetic could help me give a fresh perspective on this place.
